Brødrene Aa is an international world leader in construction of high speed ferries made in carbon fiber composite. Vessels build in carbon fiber have low weight compared to vessels built in aluminium or GRP. Less weight gives less fuel consumption and less emmisions to air.
Fjordstrøm
Fjordstrøm is a state-of-the-art catamaran designed for both passenger and cargo transport, accommodating 130 passengers, with unique facilities like a specialized cold room and loading cranes for fish transport.
Brisen
Brisen is a 25,3 m catamaran providing tourists and travelers a zero-emission sailing experience. With a passenger capacity of 149 pax, the vessel boasts a characteristic and purpose built design optimized for sightseeing and functions. Brisen was delivered to owner Brim Explorer and this is their first vessel built in carbon fibre.
Aero Highspeed
Aero Highspeed to Attica Group, three sister vessels in total, are the first vessels from Brødrene Aa’s new AERO product line. The vessels feature aerodynamic and energy efficient design, accompanied with lightweight carbon fiber trademark construction. The new, state-of-the-art Aeros boast an ultra-modern design with innovative features, and represent a significant upgrade of the travel experience for the passengers travelling on the Saronic routes.
Rygermedic
“Rygermedic” is a 23m ambulance catamaran with a passenger certificate of 12 persons and designed for a top speed of 35 knots. Owner is Rødne Ambulanse and the vessel operates out of Stavanger, covering the populated islands of Ryfylke. The vessel features a top modern ambulance room with two fully equipped stretcher positions. She has an efficient layout enabling the ambulance room to be entered quickly both from the fore-and aft deck with rolling stretchers.
Sigrid Sigurdsdotter
«Sigrid sigurdsdottter» is the sister ship of «Liv Grannes», a 30m long passenger catamaran with the capacity to carry both passengers and 6t of cooled cargo in a service speed of 26 knots. The vessel is owned by Nordland Fylke and operated by Boreal Sjø. She has base port in Sandnessjøen and is set to provide service to the local island-communities in this area.
Liv Grannes
«Liv Grannes» is a 30m long passenger catamaran with the capacity to carry both passengers and 6t of cooled cargo in a service speed of 26 knots. The vessel is owned by Nordland Fylke and operated by Boreal Sjø. She has her base port in Sandnessjøen and is set to service the local islands in this area.
Fredrikke Tønder-Olsen
«Fredrikke Tønder Olsen» is a 43m long passenger catamaran with the capacity to carry both passengers and 10t of cooled cargo in a service speed of 33 knots. The vessel is owned by Nordland Fylke and operated by Boreal Sjø. It has its base port in Sandnessjøen and is set to provide service for the remote islands of Træna. «Fredrikke” is specially designed to handle the rough weather conditions this area, and has been approved to operate in wave conditions of Hs 4m in 20 knots speed.
Hollendaren
«Hollendaren» is a 36,7m ro-ro cargo and passenger fast ferry with 73 passengers capacity and space for 8 cars. The vessel is owned by Troms & Finnmark fylkeskommune. «Hollendaren» is a versatile vessel designed to handle the various needs of the local communities in the region. With its strong carbon fibre deck, the vessel is able to carry a 50t truck. She is approved for operation in seas up to Hs 4m.
Rygerelektra
The 297 passenger all-electric ferry measures 42 meters in length and is capable of 23 knots – a world record for the fastest all-electric passenger catamaran. At full passenger capacity, she will have an operational range of 40 nautical miles at a speed of 18 knots.
Ming Zhu Hu
Ming Zhu Hu is a 40 knot vessel delivered to Guangzhou Panyu Lianhuashan Port Passenger Transport Co. Lt (China). Passenger capacity of 300, and equipped with 4x MTU 12V2000 engines and S56-4 waterjets from Kongsberg.
Legacy of The Fjords
Legacy of the Fjords is the third Seasight we have built for operator The Fjords. This fully electric sightseeing vessel is similar to previous Seasights but feature a gangway on both sides for added flexibility.
Regine Normann
The sister ship of “Elsa Laula Renberg”.Owned by Nordland Fylkeskommune and operated by Boreal Sjø. Designed for rough sea conditions and approved for Hs 3m. Carries 220 passengers, 8t of cargo and equipped with SCR system complient with IMO Tier 3.
Elsa Laula Renberg
The 2019 new build, Elsa Laula Renberg is owned by Nordland Fylkeskommune and operated by Boreal Sjø. Serving the coastline of Nordland Fylke, she is designed to handle rough sea conditions and carries both passengers and 8t of cargo.
Zhong Shan 26
The third 44m fast ferry delivered to Zhong Shan Hong Kong Passenger Shipping. Single deck passenger lounge with 230 pax capacity, including 50 pax first class accomodation. Equipped with 2x1440 kW MTU engines, the waterjet-propelled vessel have an impressive 37 knots top speed.

The sister ship of “Zhong Shan 6, and the second 40 knot vessel delivered to Zhong Shan Port (China). Passenger capacity of 300, and equipped with 4x MTU 12V2000 engines and S56-4waterjets from Rolls Royce.
Zhong Shan 6
Reaching at top speed of 43 knots, “Zhong Shan 6” is the fastest catamaran ever build by Brødrene Aa. The 300 pax carbon fibre vessel is equipped with four MTU 12V2000 engines and waterjets from Rolls Royce.

PJ Supersport
Normally Brødrene Aa delivers complete high speed passenger vessels, but in this project we produced the carbon fiber structure for the Palmer Johnson 48m Supersport yacht. The structure was shipped to Palmer Johnson’s yard in the United States for outfitting and finishing.

M/S Rygertroll
Delivered to L.Rødne & Sønner in march 2012. Rygertroll operates on sightseeing in Lysefjorden and is equipped with Rolls Royce AZP35C. These forward facing thrusters reduces noise, consumption and vibrations compared to conventional systems. Firdaposten.no
Foldafjord
Foldafjord is a 97 pax carbon fibre catamaran delivered in 2010 to the norwegian operator, FosenNamsos Sjø. It is powered by 2x MAN D2842 LE410 engines and equipped with CPP propellars from Servogear. Foldafjord operates with service speed of 31 knots.
Sognekongen
Sognekongen was the first carbon fibre vessel delivered to the norwegian operator, Fjord 1. The 295 pax catamaran is designed for long route operation, with very well equipped accommodation areas and high luggage capacity. Sold to Mutawa Marine Works I 2012 renamed Mutawa 203.
Tidebaronen
Tidebaronen is a 250 pax vessel operating in the Oslofjord. The carbon fibre catamaran is powered by two MTU 12V 2000 CR engines and equipped with CPP propellers from Servogear. It operates with a service speed of approx. 30 knots.
Tidebaronessen
Tidebaronessen takes 180 passengers and operates on commuter-routes in Oslo. The 27m carbon fibre catamaran is equipped with an hydraulic gangway at the bow for efficient passenger boarding. It is powered by two MTU 10V2000 M72 engines and CPP propellars from Servogear.
Tidecruise
Tidecruise is a 147 pax carbon fibre catamaran built in 2008. It makes a service for a service speed of 28 knots. The vessel is equipped with TV-screens in the accommodation areas and features a kiosk for refreshments and simple dishes.
Trondheimsfjord II
The two vessels, Trondheimsfjord I and Trondheimsfjord II is designed for commuter operation on Trondheimsfjorden. Trondheimsfjord II was delivered in 2008. It takes 130 passengers and has service speed of 25 knots.
Trondheimsfjord I
The two vessels, Trondheimsfjord I and Trondheimsfjord II is designed for commuter operation to and from the city of Trondheim. Trondheimsfjord 1 was delivered in 2008 as the first carbon fibre vessel to FosenNamsos As.
Fjordprins
Fjordprins is the second carbon fibre vessel delivered to the Norwegian operator, Fjord 1. The 295 pax catamaran is designed for long route operation with well-equipped accommodation areas and high luggage capacity.
Fjorddrott
Fjorddrott is the third out three identical vessels delivered to Norled for operations in Stavanger. The 180 pax carbon fibre vessel is made for commuter operation. Strong effort has been made to design it according to principles for universal design.
Rygerkongen
Rygerkongen was the fifth carbon fiber vessel delivered to the operator, L.Rødne and Sønner AS, during a period of only four years. The 130 pax carbon catamaran is powered by MAN-engines and equipped with CPP propellars from Servogear.
Rygerstril
This Ambulance vessel, operates in Austevoll, nearby Bergen on the western coast of Norway. Top speed of almost 40 knots, gives it a very good emergency response time. Rygerstril is operated by Rødne Ambulanse As and is built on the basis of the prior delivery, Rygerdokoren.
Rygerfjord
Rygerfjord is the second carbon catamaran built by Brødrene Aa. It is owned and operated by L.Rødne & Sønner in Stavanger, taking tourists on seightseeing to the famous destination Flor & Fjære. Swedish operator, Styrsøbolaget, leased Rygerfjord for a while in 2004.

Rygerdoktoren is a carbon fibre ambulance monohull delivered in 2002 to the norwegian operator, L. Rødne & Sønner. It is powered by 2x MAN LE 410 engines, equipped with Rolls Royce waterjets. Rygerdoktoren was worlds first commercial vessel build in carbon fibre.
